Mr. Charles Edward Kimbrough, affectionately called “Jimmy Boy & Jimmy Click” by his family and friends, was born in Iredell County, N.C., on June 1, 1961, and was the son of the late Arbra Carlton Keaton Jr. and Bertha Lafern Kimbrough White. He departed this life on Monday, June 16, 2025, at Autumn Care following an extended illness.

He was married to Alisa Dawn Chambers Kimbrough, who preceded him in death on April 18, 2025. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arbra and Onie Mae White Keaton; maternal grandparents, John and Claire Click; special aunts, Patsy Ann Keaton and Doris Vanessa Keaton; and a host of aunts and uncles.

He attended Iredell-Statesville Schools and he went on to work in general manufacturing before becoming disabled several years ago. His memory will live on through the love he gave, the joy he brought, and the lives he touched.

He leaves to cherish the memories of his life his step-children, James Tyrece Demon (Brandi) Chambers, Toccara Chambers, and Terrius DeChazz Chambers; a host of step-grandchildren; his step brother, Ernie Jarod Deese; step-father, Franklin Roosevelt White; special cousins, Karen Keaton, Tammy Keaton,Terri Keaton Samuels, and Michelle Keaton (Patrick) Mathelier; and a host of nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

We thank everyone who has helped Jimmy during his illness and special thanks to his caregivers, Karen Keaton and Annika Oglesby. We’d also like to give a special thanks to Autumn Care of Statesville.
