Dolores Chavez Iglesias, born on January 20, 1944, in the vibrant lands of El Salvador, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, in Forsyth County, N.C., at the age of 81.
Throughout her life, Dolores embodied the strength and grace that defined the many women who came before her. As a devoted homemaker, she crafted an environment of warmth, love, and stability within her home. Her unwavering dedication to her family was a testament to her nurturing spirit and tireless commitment to those she held dear.
Though modest about her accomplishments, Dolores’s legacy lies in the countless lives she touched with her gentle kindness and enduring spirit. She faced life’s challenges with resilience and an unyielding faith, traits that she passed on to those who were fortunate enough to be in her presence.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francisco Rolando Morales Iglesias; parents, Julio Castro and Rosa Candida Chavez; and siblings, Rosario E. Chavez, Maria Vilma Chavez, Jose Elias Canjura Chavez and Alba D. Chavez.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Oscar R. Garcia (Bonnie), Fabricio A. Barraza (Raquel), and Ronnie Iglesias (Esvy); grandchildren, Naomi Garcia Brazil (Keith), Max Garcia, Angel Barraza, Gabriel Barraza, Kenneth R. Iglesias (Jessica), Keith R. Iglesias (Shelley), and Kevin Iglesias (Orianna); great grandchildren, Brianna, Anthony, Jaxon, Elijah, Sadie, Adrian, Liam, Luka, Emilia, Karlie, Gabiela and Olivia; and siblings, Francisco Edgardo Chavez, Julio Salvador Chavez, Gladys Elizabeth Canjura Chavez.
Dolores leaves behind a world enriched by her presence and the quiet impact of her unwavering devotion.
Friends and those wishing to pay their respects are invited to attend a viewing and visitation on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home, located at 135 E. Front Street, Statesville, NC 28677.
