Special to IFN
Rotary Club of Statesville/Fourth Creek recently donated $25,000 to establish a Family Resource Center in The Birth Place at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
This beautiful space includes:
♦ Child-friendly seating;
♦ Plenty of outlets to charge phones and laptops;
♦ A television;
♦ A coffee and snack bar; and
♦ A baby changing room
These personal touches give the patient families space to spread out with some of the comforts of home.
“The Iredell Health Foundation is incredibly grateful for the Rotary Club of Statesville/Fourth Creek and their generous donation,” said Kim Holland, Iredell Health Foundation development coordinator. “This space will provide comfort, connection, and convenience for families during some of life’s most meaningful moments. It’s more than just a room; it’s a reflection of our community’s compassion and commitment to supporting one another. We are proud to partner with organizations like the Rotary Club that share our vision of making a lasting impact on the lives of the community we serve.”
Members the club, led by President Richard Armstrong, attended a dedication of the new space on June 6, when a plaque was unveiled recognizing the club’s generosity.
“The Rotary Club of Statesville/Fourth Creek members realize that ‘the efforts of one person can’t move mountains. It’s the strength of us all working together that makes a change,’” said Armstrong, citing a famous anonymous quote. This donation exemplifies Rotary Club International’s mission to “provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through our fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders.”
