Beatrice Dennice Haley, 87, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.

Beatrice was born on May 13, 1938, in Manhattan, N.Y., to the late Arthur Robinson and Inez Henry. At a young age, she moved from New York to St. Croix in the U.S. Virgin Islands, where she spent much of her childhood and teenage years. She had a deep love for music and worked at a bank during her career. She was affectionately known as “Ms. B” or “Ms. Jimmy” by her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Taylor Haley; children, Michael Taylor, Laverne Moore, and Carlton Moore; and siblings, Mary Marlene Reed, Francine Jennings, and Carlton Jennings.

She leaves to cherish her memory her stepson, Tyrone Taylor; a brother, John Bowman; a special granddaughter and devoted caregiver, Nakia Robinson; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Mortuary.

Beatrice will be remembered for her kindness, her warm spirit, and the love she gave so freely to all who knew her.
