An eastern Iredell County man was arrested on July 3 when members of the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit and Durham Police Department detectives executed a search warrant at his home off Ledgehill Road.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Daniel Brown Chambers Jr., 25, in a news release Monday.
Durham police detectives opened a criminal investigation in April after receiving information about an adult having inappropriate online conversations with a minor, Campbell said. The adult was reportedly attempting to meet the minor with the intent to have sexual contact, according to the news release.
After Chambers was identified as the suspect, Durham police contacted the ICSO Special Victims Unit to assist with the investigation. Arrest warrants were obtained charging Chambers with felony first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and felony solicitation of a child by computer.
While executing the search warrant, detectives seized several items found in Chambers’ possession, including electronic devices, according to the news release.
Following his arrest, Chambers was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where Magistrate Nethken set a $250,000 secured bond.
This investigation is ongoing, and additional charges may be filed, Campbell said.
According to the ICSO, Chambers’ criminal history includes a charge of felony dissemination of obscenity.
