Mooresville Arts has two new exhibits, “The Art of Fiber Exhibit” and “Pop Culture, a Themed Exhibit,” on display at the Depot.
“The Art of Fiber Exhibit” is being showcased in the Depot’s Center Gallery. Eighteen local and regional artists are participating in this show, with 41 artworks featured. A variety of fiber media is on display, including quilting, felting, hooked wool, tapestry, macramé, paper mâché and more. In addition, a quilt and other items created in the Gees Bend quilting community in Alabama are on display during this exhibit. This truly is a diverse showcase, and the talent, creativity and skill of these fiber artists is quite remarkable.

Participating artists include Flora Allen, Meg Crowley, Kristie Darling, Sandy Eaton, Delorise Ellsworth, Liani Foster, Carla Handshaw, Jean Johnson, Katerine Natter, Suzette Picozzi, Lauren Salazar, Lynda Santoni, Julie Simmons, Sandi Starrette, Diane Sulg, Sandy Thibeault, Tina Vincent, and Beverly Walker.
“Pop Culture, a Themed Exhibit” is featured in the Depot’s Skylight Gallery. The exhibit showcases the work of 19 local and regional artists. This exhibit, which is inspired by pop culture and pop art, includes paintings, mixed media, collage and more.

Participating artists include Trevor Bowman, Katlyn Cornelius, Carleen Davis, Jessica DeHart, Eliza Dunaway, Sandy Eaton, Maikol Garcia, Deepa Gopinath, Maryjo Gunning, Rachel J Haungs, Ida Irby, Brad Lephew, Tara McCartney, Suzette Picozzi, Jaana Rasmussen, Lynda Santoni, Renu Singh, Patrick Turner, and Vaishnavi Vankayala.
Both exhibits are on display through Thursday, August 14.
The public is invited to attend the artists’ reception on Friday, July 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
Mooresville Arts is located at 103 W Center Avenue in Mooresville. Gallery Hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. Most of the artwork is for sale, and art sales directly benefit participating artists and Mooresville Arts, a nonprofit arts gallery and organization.
