A driver whose SUV crashed into a tree off Perth Road was pulled from the burning vehicle early Friday morning by a Good Samaritan.

Steven Edwards, the owner of Guys and Dolls Hair Design in Troutman, was on his way to work when he saw the burning Ford Edge. He pulled the driver out of the vehicle through the sunroof. 

The driver reportedly lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck a tree, causing the vehicle to erupt in flames.

Troutman Fire & Rescue responded to the scene and extinguished the fire. Iredell County EMS transported the driver to the hospital.
