Mary Louise Davis, 78, of Union Grove, N.C., passed away Friday, July 18, 2025, following an extended illness at home surrounded by her family. Mary was born in Wilkes County on July 19, 1946, to the late Llyod Queen and Ethel Queen. She worked at Kewaunee Scientific for 20 years. She enjoyed her family and friends, talking on the phone and shopping.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Randy Nance; and three sisters, Florama, Rosey, and Martha.
Survivors include three daughters, Penny Hadley and husband James, Patty Rogers and husband Billy, and Michelle Davis; four grandchildren, Amanda Hayes (Bubba), Derick Rogers, Sean Rogers, and Austin Mooe; two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Wyatt Hayes; two nieces, Becky Ervin and Debra Watts; four nephews, Daniel Gwaltney (Molly), Anthony Davis (Sandy), Timmy McDaniels (Michelle), and Paul McDaniels.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Taylor Springs Baptist Church. Pastor Allen Mullins will officiate. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. at the church. Pallbearers will be Billy Isaac, James Kennerly, Anthony Davis, Timmy McDaniels, Paul McDaniels, Jimmy McDaniels, and Daniel Gwaltney. The family would like to give a special thank you to Alexander County Hospice for all their help and support through this difficult time.
