Mooresville Town Manager Tracey Jerome recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). She is one of more than 1,300 local government management professionals currently credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.

ICMA’s mission is to advance professional local government through leadership, management, innovation, and ethics, and increase the proficiency of appointed chief administrative officers, assistant administrators, and other employees who serve local governments and regional entities around the world. The organization’s 13,000 members in 27 countries also include educators and students.
To receive the prestigious ICMA credential, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; have earned a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.
As Mooresville’s top administrative officer, Jerome is responsible for implementing the policies of the Board of Commissioners, directing business and administrative procedures, and appointing departmental officers. She is committed to exceptional customer service and continuous improvement and has a strong record of delivering results for organizations and communities.
Jerome joined the Town of Mooresville on April 29, 2024. She has more than 20 years of experience in local, national, and international public and private sector business relations, in addition to almost 10 years of leadership experience in local government and community-focused programs and services. Before joining the Town of Mooresville, she was the senior deputy city manager for the City of El Paso, Texas.
Jerome earned master’s degrees from Sotheby’s Institute of Art and Eastern Michigan University, as well as a bachelor’s degree from the College of William & Mary.
