Nathan Issac Bare, 90, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away on Friday, July 25, 2025, at his home. He was born November 5, 1934, in Alexander County, the son of the late Thomas Bare and Delta Blevins Bare.
For most of his working career, he worked for Clayton-Marcus for 30 plus years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He enjoyed bee-keeping, gardening, and going to church and the mountains. He also enjoyed going to the Breakfast Club at McDonald’s and eating with his friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a daughter, Beverly Annette Bare; siblings, Francis Holcomb, Clara Shepherd, Vickie Bare, Ruby Hoosier, Denver Bare, and Edward Bare.
Those left to cherish and honor Nathan’s memories include his wife of 68 years, Willa Mae Barnes Bare of the home: his daughter, Shannon Russell (Roger) of Taylorsville; his sons, Lynn Bare (Teresa) of Taylorsville, and Timothy Bare (Linda) of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Michael Bare (Susan), Jennifer Bare, and Serena Russell (fiancé, Brady Hefner); his step-grandchildren, Shiloh Walsh and Le Anne; his great-grandchildren, Dalton Bare, Hudson Bare, and Evie Bare, Aaliyah Parsons, Ethan Parsons, and Shantel Buckson; his step-great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Zane; his sister, Vivaloyd Jones of Hickory; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church. Pastor Stephen Dagenhart and Pastor Taylor Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in the Three Forks Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 5 p.m. prior to the service.
