Personnel from Shepherds Fire Rescue, along with Troutman Fire & Rescue and Cool Springs Fire Department, were dispatched to multiple calls for a structure fire on Brawley Road about 9:49 p.m. on Thursday night. Arriving Shepherds units transmitted a working fire for a fully involved detached garage with small explosions. Firefighters stretched one hose line and attacked the fire quickly, knocking the flames down. Crews secured a gas line to the structure, and additional firefighters overhauled the structure, which was destroyed by the fire.

Iredell County EMS personnel and South Iredell Fire Department’s Air Van were called to the scene.

The fire was brought under control at 10:25 p.m. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
