Mooresville resident Justin Crews has announced his candidacy for the Ward 4 seat on the Town Board of Commissioners.

Justin Crews

A husband and father of seven who works as a distribution designer for a local power company, Crews moved to Mooresville in 2020 to begin a ministry in the Charlotte area. If elected, he vows to be a voice for Mooresville families and partner with neighborhoods, while being a champion for thoughtful progress.

“This town has given me so much—whether it’s the strong sense of community, the friendships I’ve made, or the opportunities to build a life here—and now, I feel it’s my turn to give back,” Crews said in his official campaign announcement. “Mooresville has always been about more than just a place—it’s about the people. I believe in a future where we grow thoughtfully, preserve what makes our neighborhoods strong, and create a local government that listens and leads with purpose and integrity.”

As the campaign season gets underway for the November election, Crews said he plans to spend time listen to residents’ ideas, concerns, and vision for what Mooresville can become.

“This campaign isn’t just about me; it’s about all of us. Together, we can move Mooresville forward, and I’m ready to put in the work to make that happen,” he said.

Since relocating to Mooresville, Crews has served with several local organizations, including the Town of Mooresville’s Community Relations Committee, The Kindness Closet, and Fifth Street Ministries. Leadership, he said, begins with service — and he strives to remain true to that principle in all aspects of his life.

In his campaign announcement, Crews said he would focus on several key issues, including:

Responsible Growth & Infrastructure: He promised to advocate for smarter development that eases traffic, finishes incomplete neighborhoods, and protects the character of Mooresville.

Affordable Housing & Environmental Accountability: The town board, Crews said, must work to ensure that there are housing options that work for teachers, seniors, and working families—and policies that safeguard the environment and public health.

Public Safety & Transparent Leadership: Crews supports community-led safety efforts and open, inclusive governance where residents are active participants—not afterthoughts.
