Certified Nursing Assistant Gabriella Ordonez was recently presented the Caring iN Action Award by at Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital.

Ordonez, who works in the Medical-Surgical Unit, was presented the award for the second quarter of 2025 by Miranda Mathis-Harris, Interim Chief Nursing Operations. Numerous team members from the department congratulated her on this recognition.
The Caring iN Action Award is presented by Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital in recognition of efforts displayed by extraordinary patient care employees and is presented with a framed certificate and flowers. It was established to honor and reward those who go above and beyond to make a difference for patients and their teammates.
Excerpts from the Caring iN Action nomination for Ordonez submitted by one of her patients and their family reads: “Gabriella was excellent, very kind, loving, and compassionate. She was so attentive, and cared for my mother with so much love and was amazing. She is very kind.”
