Everette McKinley Wike, 82, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025, at Wilkes Medical Center. He was born July 30, 1943, in Alexander County, the son of the late Ray Wike and Edna St. Clair Wike Mitchell.

Everette proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. He worked as a truck driver and a farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia “Pat” Harrington Wike.

Those left to cherish and honor his memories include his daughters, Tanya Link (Richard), Shannon Chatham (Barry), and Tina Hallman (Steve); his grandchildren, Randy Hallman (Katie), Meagan Hendren (Dustin), Preston Link, Grant Chatham (Bel), AJ Hallman, Karina Link, Jordan Chatham, Deacon Link, Amanda Hallman, and Emma Hallman; great-grandchildren, Raylan Hendren, Natalie Hallman, Willa Hendren, Fenton Hendren, Charlotte Hallman, and Sawyer Hendren; and numerous special friends that are considered family.

The graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. Dr. James Smith will officiate.

The body will lie in state from 3 until 3:45 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
