James “Norris” Poole, 72, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at his home. He was born August 7, 1953, in Alexander County, the son of Madia Poole Jones and his step-father, Joe Jones.

Norris was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed socializing with friends, enjoyed cooking and loved to watch Westerns.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Barker, and a brother, Rodney Scott.

Those left to cherish and honor Norris’s memories include his sisters, Diane Carlton (Robert) of Wilkesboro, Kimberly Shuford (Robbie) of Taylorsville, and Sandra Lackey of Taylorsville; his brothers, JC Scott of Lenoir and Bryan Jones (Amy) of Taylorsville; and his girlfriend, Rachel McLain.

At Norris’s request, there will be no services.
