Kevin Lawrence Murray, 67, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at his home. He was born on May 15, 1958, in Charlotte, N.C., son of William and Alice Lawrence Murray.

Kevin graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from UNC-Charlotte. He enjoyed a long and successful career with Duke Energy; where he retired on December 31, 2018, after 38 years of service.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William H. Murray III.

Kevin leaves a loving family, including his wife of 39 years, Catherine “Cathy” Murray; and sons, Carson Murray and his wife Jessica, and Harrison Murray.

He always pulled out all the stops for his boys, making their childhood full of fun and adventure. He spared no expense when giving to his wife and children.

Kevin was a constant and true friend with years of friendships celebrated at the annual Pig Pickin and skiing at Snowshoe. He loved the beach, lake, and mountains with yearly trips to Ocean Isle, Sugar Mountain, and endless good times on Lake Norman with his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 16, at Lake Norman Church of Christ, 17634 Caldwell Station Road, Huntersville, NC 28078.
