The NCWorks Career Center-Iredell, which was previously located at 133 Island Ford Road in Statesville, is relocating to a building in downtown Statesville.

The previous location closed on Friday, August 8. The Career Center will reopen to the public on Monday, August 18, in its new location at 307 North Center Street in Statesville.

“The Centralina Workforce Development Board (WDB) is thrilled about the relocation of the NCWorks Career Center-Iredell to its new location in downtown Statesville,” David Hollars, Centralina Workforce Development Board executive director, said. “Career seekers and employers will soon be able to access this beautiful facility and receive the same great services by the skilled NCWorks staff. The Centralina WDB is committed to ensuring our NCWorks Career Centers provide the best possible services for all communities in our region.”

The NCWorks Career Center-Iredell operates Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Center closes each day from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. for lunch and closes the second Friday of each month at 12 noon.

NCWorks services help North Carolinians find work, improve their skills and connect to other resources to help them prepare for job interviews and make a good impression on employers.

The following services are offered to job-seekers, at no charge:

♦ Career assessment and guidance;
♦ Access to training and education programs;
♦ Job fairs and workshops;
♦ Information on the job market;
♦ Assistance with searching for jobs;
♦ Resumé and cover letter preparation;
♦ Practice interviewing for jobs;
♦ Free computer and internet access; and
♦ Help registering with and using NCWorks Online (www.NCWorks.gov)

The NCWorks Career Center also offers special services for veterans, young adults, migrant/seasonal farm workers and justice-involved people.

In addition, NCWorks provides local employers with help recruiting and screening job applicants, labor market information and access to training resources, among other services, which are also free of charge.
