On August 7, 2025, Lucy “Toni” Annette Rudloff, 88, passed away at her home in Taylorsville, N.C. She was surrounded by her children who loved her dearly.

Toni was born on May 12, 1937, in Newport News, Va. She was the last of four children born to Mark and Lucy Oldham. Toni was a retired school nutrition attendant with Alexander County Schools and enjoyed serving her grandkids. She loved to do arts and crafts, crossword puzzles, decorating for every holiday and playing Scrabble. Toni never knew a stranger and always opened her home to anyone who needed a place to stay. Her biggest accomplishment in life was her eight children, whom she was so immensely proud to tell you about.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Eddie, who passed in December of 2017.

Toni is survived by her remaining seven children and their spouses; Nan Spell, James Riddle and Cathy, Scott Riddle and Pauline, Frances Ford and Grant, Kimberly Hale and Chuck, Robin Kinnaird and Truby, and Kendra Sweat and Danny. She had 14 grandchildren and their spouses Ronnie Spell, Ryan Spell, Randall Ford, Stephanie Collins and Derek, Brandon Kinnaird and Caitlin, Carrie Longsworth, Amy Riddle, Dallas Kinnaird and Cassidy, Kellee Christmas and Collin, Scott Riddle and Keaton, Jake Spell, Katie Riddle, Dalton Sweat and Alexa, and Dakota Brawley and Jeff. She also had 25 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life Service in Chuluota, Fla., sometime in the fall.
