More than 100 people who are committed to keeping their congregations safe attended the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office’s Church Shield class last week.

After the evening opened in prayer, Sheriff Darren Campbell spoke on the importance of preparedness. ICSO threat assessment investigators shared information on recent threats and offered valuable guidance for keeping places of worship safe.

While this class focused on immediate threat awareness and response, ICSO threat assessment investigators are also available for one-on-one sessions at local places of worship.

If you weren’t able to attend, you can still schedule a visit in which ICSO personnel will cover additional safety topics — such as breaking and entering, trespassing, vandalism, and more — all tailored to your church’s specific needs.
