Special to IFN
The Iredell Arts Council will host an exclusive exhibition and competition on Wednesday, August 20.
“Celebrating Film in Visual Arts” art show will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Iredell Arts Council, located at 203 S. Meeting Street in Statesville.
A collaboration with the Full Bloom Film Festival and Speedball Art, the show is free and open to the public.
This exclusive exhibition highlights the intersection of two art forms—film and visual art. Just as cinema evokes emotion, tells stories, and builds atmosphere, visual art transforms the intangible into works that stir the imagination.
“Celebrating Film in Visual Arts” invites artists to capture the spirit of film through paintings, drawings, and mixed-media works inspired by the magic of the screen.
“This exhibit allows the Iredell Arts Council to welcome new artists while celebrating the crossover between film and visual arts,” said Sydney Koppelmeyer, executive director of Iredell Arts Council. “This event offers our community a fresh way to experience that connection, and we’re grateful to the Full Bloom Film Festival and Speedball Art for helping make it possible.”
The evening will feature a juried exhibition, community reception, and the announcement of award winners, with prizes sponsored by the Iredell Arts Council and Speedball Art.
The exhibition will remain on display throughout the Full Bloom Film Festival (September 11–13), giving festival audiences an additional opportunity to enjoy the artwork.
