The Town of Mooresville, the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame and Visit Mooresville will celebrate Mooresville’s deep roots in racing at the 2025 Mooresville Motorsports Celebration on Tuesday, September 30.

This event, which will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Main Street, is free to attend and promises a full evening of race-themed activities, food trucks, a classic car show, and a ceremony honoring motorsports icons.

This year’s highlight will be the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame “Walk of Fame” Induction Ceremony presented by Visit Mooresville. Two NASCAR legends, Greg Biffle and Ryan Newman, will be officially inducted into the Hall’s prestigious Walk of Fame at 5 p.m.

2025 Inductees

“Greg Biffle and Ryan Newman represent the very best of what NASCAR stands for—talent, integrity, and dedication. Their contributions to racing have earned them this honor, and we’re thrilled to recognize their legacies here in Mooresville, where motorsports history lives and thrives,” said Don Miller, chairman of the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame.

♦ Greg Biffle is known for his grit, versatility, and ability to win at every level of NASCAR, enjoying a career spanning more than two decades. He is one of the few drivers in NASCAR history to win championships in multiple series, capturing the 2000 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Championship and the 2002 NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship. Biffle scored 19 Cup Series wins, 20 Xfinity wins, and 17 Truck Series wins, placing him in a small class of drivers to win a race in each of NASCAR’s three national series. Recognized now for his humanitarian efforts, Biffle played a heroic role in aiding flood victims in Western North Carolina after Hurricane Helene in 2024. He flew multiple relief and rescue missions in his personal helicopter, delivering hundreds of pounds of supplies and evacuating stranded residents from remote areas cut off by the flooding. His efforts were driven by a spontaneous response to a family’s plea for help and supported by a wide network of friends and fans.

♦ Ryan Newman, nicknamed “The Rocket Man,” for his prowess in qualifying, is a Purdue-educated engineer turned racing powerhouse. He racked up 18 NASCAR Cup Series wins, including a dramatic victory at the 2008 Daytona 500. Newman won the 1999 USAC Siler Crown Series Championship, which served as a springboard to his NASCAR career. He holds a record of 51 career poles, placing him among the all-time greats in that category and is one of a few elite drivers who won races in all three of NASCAR’s top series. Known for his tenacity and resilience on the track, Newman made a name for himself as one of the toughest competitors in the sport. Beyond his racing resume, Newman is deeply involved in animal welfare and conservation efforts, making him a standout both on and off the track.

A Celebration of Racing

In addition to the induction ceremony, the event will feature:

• A variety of local food trucks; and
• Music and race-themed activities
