A Harmony man faces felony drug charges after being stopped for a traffic violation by an Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputy.

Lander Herbert Bustle III

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Lander Herbert Bustle III, 49, of Ivydale Road, Harmony, in a news release Monday afternoon.

Bustle was operating a motor vehicle on Turnersburg Highway on Friday when he was stopped by Deputy C. Moncus, who is assigned to the ICSO Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team, Campbell said. While speaking with Bustle, Deputy Moncus observed what appeared to be narcotics in plain view inside the vehicle, according to the news release.

After Bustle exited the vehicle at the deputy’s request, ICSO Canine Kash conducted a sniff around the exterior and gave a positive alert for the odor of narcotics, the sheriff said. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of 40 dosage units of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine, according to the news release.

Bustle was taken into custody and charged with Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver Schedule II Controlled Substance, Felony Maintain a Vehicle for a Controlled Substance, and Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

He was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center. Magistrate Callejas ordered Bustle held without bond because he was free on bond for similar charges at the time of his arrest.
