Special to IFN
Friends of Lake Norman State Park (FLANO) and Lake Norman State Park rangers are offering a variety of programs to welcome the cooler fall weather.
Women are invited to a gentle fall walk in the woods with retired environmental educator Julie Higgie set for 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, at Lake Norman State Park.
The group will meet at the Lake Shore trailhead located off Short Leaf Drive, for a walk which should last less than 2 hours. Participants should wear sturdy shoes, and bring their hiking sticks and questions about fall changes in nature.
This hike is sponsored by Friends of Lake Norman State Park (FLANO). Registration is necessary by texting 704-877-4788.
