Piedmont HealthCare is excited to announce the opening of its new Allergy, Asthma & Immunology practice in Statesville.
Leading the practice is Dr. Arfa Faiz, a double board-certified specialist dedicated to helping patients breathe easier, feel better, and live life fully. The new practice is built on a foundation of clear communication, personalized treatment plans, and a collaborative approach to care.
Faiz brings extensive training and experience to the community. She earned her medical degree from the National University of Science and Technology – Army Medical College in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, completed her internship and residency at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla., and finished her fellowship in Allergy and Immunology at the University of California Los Angeles and Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, Calif. She is board certified in both Allergy & Immunology and Internal Medicine.
Her passion for Allergy and Immunology began during residency, where she discovered the field’s unique ability to treat conditions by building tolerance and modifying immune responses.
“The continuous introduction of new treatments keeps me motivated and excited for my patients,” she shared.
Faiz’s areas of interest include difficult-to-treat asthma, chronic urticaria, food allergies, hereditary angioedema, and common conditions such as allergic rhinitis. She emphasizes a patient-centered philosophy of care:
“I don’t make decisions for you. I provide the information and guidance so we can decide on your treatment together,” she said.
Outside of medicine, Faiz enjoys staying active, traveling (she has visited 24 countries), biking through national parks, skiing, and spending time with her three nieces and her cat.
