A Mooresville man faces drug trafficking charges as a result of an investigation by the Mooresville Police Department.

The MPD announced the arrest of James Robert Gabriel Jr., 62, of S. Magnolia Street, Mooresville, in a news release Friday.
Gabriel was taken into custody after members of the MPD Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at his residence on Thursday, police said. During the search, detectives seized 30.7 grams of methamphetamine, 7 grams of cocaine and $12,851 in cash, according to the news release.
The suspect was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance, felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, felony maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances, sell, deliver or possess a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, and a misdemeanor drug offense.
Gabriel was being held in the Iredell County Detention Center in lieu of a $350,000 bond.
