Randy Marion Ford in Statesville is partnering with Iredell Christian Ministries to help ensure that food insecure households in our community have enough to eat.
The dealership, located at 1030 Gateway Crossing Drive, is hosting a food drive from September 15-25. Customers and community members are encouraged to drop off donations, which will be delivered to the local nonprofit.
The local effort is part of Ford Building Together, a corporate initiative to focus on community development, education, food security and disaster relief.
“Participating in Ford’s ‘world’s largest dealer food drive’ is what the Randy Marion stores do, which is giving back to our community and neighbors,” said Rhyne Scott, general manager of Randy Marion Ford in Statesville.
Iredell Christian Ministries has been helping people in need throughout Iredell County since 2007. Founded with a goal of providing assistance to 100 families a month, Iredell Christian Ministries now serves close to 800 families per month.
According to Feeding America, hunger impacts one in seven people in the United States. More than 50 million people turn to food banks and pantries for help.
Ford Building Together is designed to deepen the company’s long-standing commitment to community, which includes over $2.4 billion in philanthropic giving and 1.8 million volunteer hours. Initiative partners include the American Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity and Team Rubicon.
