We are saddened to announce that our beloved James “Jim” William Mancuso passed away on September 19, 2025, at Brookdale Peachtree Assisted Living Facility in Statesville, N.C. Born on July 2, 1940, in Milwaukee, Wis., Jim was the son of the late William Mancuso and Maxine Goecke Mancuso.
He grew up on Milwaukee’s East Side and graduated from Lincoln High School. He served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman and canine handler with his partner Fritz and was honorably discharged after three years. Jim attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering, where he graduated with his associate degree in Industrial Management. He worked as a supervisor for Allen-Bradley in Milwaukee and later relocated with his family to Greensboro, N.C., to help open the company’s new facility. He also worked at SCI Systems and ESI America as a manufacturing manager before retiring in 2003.
Jim volunteered at Piedmont Triad International Airport as an Airport Ambassador, helping passengers navigate the airport. Jim was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in High Point, N.C., a former member of the Williams Grove Subdivision Board of Directors, and a charter member of GSO Sons of Italy OSIA Richard Frettoloso Lodge #2861. Jim enjoyed traveling, reading, and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 53 years, Judith “Judie” Jezukewicz Mancuso; and his heavenly daughter, Marcy Mancuso Meyers.
He is survived by his beautiful daughters and sons-in-law; Monica Mancuso Murdock and Gary Murdock, Marigrace Mancuso Lancaster and Tommy Lancaster, and Clark Oakes. He had three grandchildren whom he cherished, Madelyn Meyers (Xavier Lovette), Abigail Mancuso (Jared Burrell), and James Jones. He was blessed to have four bonus grandchildren, Andrew Murdock (Abby), Michael Murdock, Trey Lancaster (Shanna) and Tyler Lancaster (Audrey Inthisane) as well as three bonus great grandchildren, Amara and Leland Lancaster and Molly Murdock. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Barb Mancuso of Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., and brother and sister-in-law, Joe Jezukewicz and Leslie Conley of Scottsdale, Ariz., special friend, Bernice Massood, and other members of the treasured extended family.
A Celebration of Life for Jim will be held on October 10, 2025, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4145 Johnson Street in High Point, N.C. Visitation will start at 10:30 a.m. with Mass beginning at 11 a.m. A luncheon will immediately follow in the Fellowship Hall. Interment will be at Westminster Gardens, 3602 Whitehurst Road in Greensboro directly following the reception.
