Jackie Lee Tayes King, 61, of Lexington, N.C., passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Catawba Valley Medical Center following an extended illness. Jackie was born in Iredell County on September 6, 1964, to the late Jay Tayse and Mildred Campbell Tayse.

Survivors include two daughters, Tabitha James and husband William of Statesville, and Angie Woody and husband David of Mt. Holly; one brother, Jay “Peanut” Tayes, and wife, Becky; two sisters, Darlene Tayse and Ann Wood and husband Len; and six grandchildren, Blake Lynch, Brileeh King, Jenavah King, Samantha Woody, Caleb James, and Colton James.

A celebration of life will be held Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Martin Luther King Jr. Park (911 Lakewood Drive, Statesville, NC 28677) from 12 to 5 p.m.
