Piedmont HealthCare on Tuesday announced the opening of Women’s Imaging at Fern Creek, now offering advanced 3D Mammography and DEXA.
The center began welcoming patients on September 23, just in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
A mammogram remains one of the most effective tools in the fight against breast cancer. With the addition of 3D technology, patients benefit from clearer imaging, earlier detection, and greater peace of mind. The new center also provides DEXA scans, the gold standard for measuring bone density and detecting osteoporosis.
Mammography and DEXA were previously offered at PHC Imaging Center at 700 Sullivan Road in Statesville. This move provides women with a more comfortable and convenient experience. PHC Imaging Center will continue to offer MRI, CT, Ultrasound, and X-ray.
Taking preventive measures saves lives. Annual checkups and screenings can detect abnormalities earlier, leading to quicker treatment and better outcomes.
The American Cancer Society recommends women begin regular mammograms at age 40, typically every one to two years. In addition to screenings, women are encouraged to practice monthly self-exams to stay proactive in monitoring their breast health.
Imaging services at Women’s Imaging at Fern Creek are available by referral through a Piedmont HealthCare provider.
Grand Opening
Piedmont HealthCare Women’s Imaging at Fern Creek will host a Grand Opening event on October 20 from 4 to 6 p.m. Guests are invited to go see the new facility, enjoy light refreshments, and meet the dedicated team committed to delivering the highest quality of care.
