Celia Carol Hilderbrand, 66, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Wednesday, October 1. 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House.
Celia was born on August 30, 1959, to the late Sidney E. Hilderbrand and Betty Lou Davidson Hilderbrand. She grew up in Troutman. She graduated from South Iredell High School, Class of 1979.
Celia was a member of Fallstown Baptist Church in Troutman for many years. She enjoyed walking and talking with people. She loved kids and animals, and she loved to laugh. She knew everyone’s birthday and anniversary.
Left to cherish her memory are her two brothers, Sidney Eugene “Gene” Hilderbrand and sister-in-law Renee Jenkins Hilderbrand of Stony Point, and Robert “Robby” Quinn Hilderbrand of Troutman and sister-in-law Stephanie Sue Hilderbrand of Phoenix, Ariz., and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Celia was preceded in death by her older sister, Deborah Hilderbrand Sherrill, and brother-in-law, James “Jim” Sherrill Sr.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, October 6, at Troutman First United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. David Troutman officiating.
Troutman Funeral Home is serving the family of Celia Hilderbrand.

Celia always had a smile for anyone she met. She will be missed seen walking in Troutman. RIP sweet lady and Prayers for her family.
We were born the same year. We went through school together. Our moms and dads were best friends. I got 4 or 5 guys to keep the bullies at bay when I was not around, all through school. I lost touch after school. And that was my loss. I am a good judge of people and that’s why I don’t like many of them. She had a pure heart. That is something that is almost impossible to find these days.
I am sure after Betty came and got her, she is already wearing out sandals some where in heaven.
Our hearts and prayers go out to Robby and Gene.
The Phillips family
Gene, Robbie and families: So sorry to hear of Celia passing to the other side, but everyone should know where she is and she is with her loved ones. I pray that God will give you peace and comfort during this time.
