Carol Sells Morris, 89, of Mooresville, N.C., peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 6, 2025. She was born October 4, 1936, to the late Hubert and Thayer Sells.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Morris. Carol and Bob moved their family to Lake Norman from Charlotte and opened the family business in 1974. After raising her five children, Carol spent a lot of her time babysitting her grandchildren. They always knew “Nanny” would have snacks and Pepsi ready for their visits. Carol enjoyed going to the beach, reading and cross-stitching. She spent much of her professional career as an administrative assistant at Cairn Studio in Davidson but ultimately retired after years of working with the family business, Morris Stoneworks.
She leaves behind her sister, Joyce Cody of Richfield, N.C., as well as her five children, Mike Morris (Debbie) of Sherrills Ford, Barry Morris (Vickie) of Mooresville, Lisa Windle (Mark) of Marvin, N.C., Kenny Morris (Deneen) of Troutman, and Dana Darling (Mike) of Mooresville; also her 11 cherished grandchildren, Heather Sanders, Ashlyn Gift, Jake Morris, Jordan Morris, Kasey Coates, Mindy Delpino, Krissy Powell, Nick Morris, and Wesley, Grant and Owen Darling; as well as 18 (almost 19) great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses and hospice staff that took great care of Carol. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
The family will hold visitation at 2 p.m. and funeral services at 3 p.m. at Rocky Mount Church on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Iredell and Via Health Partners.
