Crosby Scholars of Iredell County is seeking participants and sponsors for a new fundraiser to support college and career access opportunities for local students.
The inaugural Fall Frenzy: 5K Run/Walk will take place Saturday, November 22, at ESC Park in Troutman. The 5K will be a chip-timed event by New and Old-Timers, LLC.
Runners, walkers, jogging strollers and leashed pets are all welcome. The Fall Frenzy 5K will feature music, a coffee truck, face painting, post-race fruit and snacks and awards for the top male and female finishers. Registration is $35 per person with each participant receiving a T-shirt featuring the event logo and event sponsors.
“We’re looking forward to a fun, community event that celebrates Crosby Scholars’ 10th anniversary in Iredell County, while at the same time, supporting programs for more than 1,700 Iredell County students,” Iredell Crosby Scholars Executive Director Jennifer Christian said.
Since 2015, Iredell County Crosby Scholars has provided programs for middle and high schoolers in Iredell-Statesville Schools, the Mooresville Graded School District and the county’s public charter schools. Services include training sessions to improve academics, ACT/SAT test preparation, scholarship and financial aid support, career exploration sessions, one-on-one advising, college campus tours and more. All programs are completely free for students and parents.
“Expanding access to education and providing pathways to successful careers is an investment in the future of our community,” Christian explained. “As such, we’re asking local businesses and individuals to partner with us in that investment.”

SPONSORSHIPS
Sponsorships are offered at a variety of levels, from $5,000 to $250. Packages offer numerous benefits for supporters, including social media exposure and promotion during the event. Individuals or small businesses can also show their support with a personalized “cheer sign” for runners along the 5K route, available for $50.
