Linda Mae Sturgill-Campbell, 75, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Linda was born November 27, 1949, to the late Cornelius Allison Campbell and Helena Hoffman Campbell. She was a graduate of North Iredell High School and Appalachian State University.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her son, Anthony Eric Sturgill.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Heidi Campbell (Patrick Smith) of Charlotte; grandsons, Blake and Evan Smith; sisters, Christina Winkler, Isabel Campbell, Bonnie Campbell, Sandy Campbell and Anita Vargas; brothers, Felix Campbell and Don Campbell; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service will be held at Union Grove United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you spend time with your family.

Oh, the stories she could tell! I have so many wonderful memories of her. She was something special.
I remember her so well. Knowing her before the age of 5. She kept me safe when I tried to runaway from home. I’ve often wondered what happened to her. I would love Heidi to reach out. I haven’t seen her since she was child. I’m on Facebook.

Linda Mae was my first cousin. Spent so much time with the cousins while growing up. Toby and my Mother were siblings. Spending the night at their house was a great treat for me.
