Christine Cormier Tohn, 78, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, N.C.

She was born on December 17, 1946, in Glen Cove, N.Y., to the late Edward and Helen Gallagher Cormier. Ms. Tohn was retired from Piping Rock Builders in Locust Valley, N.Y.

She was an angel on earth — a soul so selfless, loving, and kind that everyone who met her felt her warmth. She cared deeply for others, always putting their needs before her own, and gave freely of her time, compassion, and heart. Her love was steady and unconditional — the kind that made people feel seen, safe, and cherished.

She had a deep connection with the ocean — it was her place of peace and reflection, where she found beauty and freedom in every wave. She loved animals and treated them with the same tenderness she gave to people. Her spirit was full of life, creativity, and wonder; she expressed her heart through painting and writing, leaving behind colors and words that still speak to her gentle soul.

Christine loved her family intensely and found great joy in music — it filled her home, her heart, and her days with rhythm and light.

To know her was to know grace, laughter, and love in its purest form. She lived beautifully, loved endlessly, and left this world a brighter place.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her fur babies, Kip and Magic.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Tohn; daughters, Karen Katos (George), and Victoria Moran (Dean Petkanas); sister, Theresa Humphris; grandchildren, Irene and Alexa Katos; and nieces and nephews, Travis Cormier, Katie Mae Humphris, and Dillon Humphris.

Services will be held at a later date.
