Five suspects felony drug charges as a result of a month-long investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
After receiving an anonymous tip related to suspected narcotics trafficking at a residence located at 226 Delight Loop in western Iredell County, ICSO narcotics detectives began conducting a surveillance operation, Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a social media post on Tuesday.
On Thursday, October 16, detectives observed two vehicles arrive at the home and deliver several large packages, which the sheriff said was consistent with drug trafficking activity. After the vehicles left, members of the ICSO Interstate Criminal Enforcement Team conducted coordinated traffic stops on both vehicles, Campbell said.
During the stops, deputies identified the occupants as Jiemi Lin and Hanmei Lin, both from Oklahoma. A search of the vehicles uncovered more than 50 pounds of marijuana and a large amount of U.S. currency, Campbell said.
Narcotics detectives subsequently secured the residence and obtained a search warrant for 226 Delight Loop. During the search, detectives found an additional 34 pounds of marijuana, four firearms and another large sum of cash, the sheriff said. Tonia Carney, who was at the residence, was arrested without incident.
In the days following the search, detectives located and arrested Frederick Carney and Trequan Dulin, both of whom were connected to the operation, Campbell said.
The investigation remains active, and additional charges are possible as detectives continue to process evidence and work with state and federal partners, the sheriff said.
Campbell praised ICSO narcotics detectives and ICE Team members for their commitment to combating drug trafficking in Iredell County.
“This case is another example of how proactive investigation and teamwork lead to significant drug seizures and safer communities,” the sheriff said. “Our deputies remain committed to pursuing those who attempt to bring illegal drugs into Iredell County.”

♦ Hanmei Lin, 53 of Panther Way, Edmond, Okla., charged with felony conspiracy to traffick in controlled substance. Bond: $100,000.
♦ Jiemei Lin, 49, of Applewood Drive, Edmond, Okla., charged with two counts of felony trafficking of a schedule VI controlled substance; felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule VI controlled substance; and felony conspire to traffic a controlled substance. Bond: $100,000.
♦ Tonia Nicole Carney, 51, of Delight Loop, Statesville, charged with felony trafficking of a schedule VI controlled substance; felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule VI controlled substance; and felony conspire to traffick a controlled substance. Bond: $15,000.
♦ Frederick Wayne Carney, 48, of Delight Loop, Statesville, charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; felony trafficking of a schedule VI controlled substance; felony possession with intent to sell or deliver a schedule VI controlled substance; and felony conspire to traffick a controlled substance.
♦ Trequan Jaquez Dulin, 30, of Delight Loop, Statesville, charged with felony conspire to traffick in controlled substances.
