Mary Frances Moore Oliphant, 95, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at Autumn Care of Statesville.
She was born on April 29, 1930, in Troutman, N.C., to the late Thomas Lee Moore and Grace Ostwalt Hartline Moore. Mrs. Oliphant was a graduate of Troutman High School and retired from Burlington Industries. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, going to the beach, and having a good time. She liked to sing and played the piano and organ. Mrs. Oliphant loved her family and spending time with them, especially all of her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Robert “Bob” Oliphant; sisters, Mildred Rankin (Arnette), Doris Parker (Collins), and Eva Alley (Kamey); and brothers, Halton Hartline, Johnny Hartline (Evelyn), and Jim Moore (Fairy).
She is survived by her children, Janet Pope (Steve), Randy Oliphant (Jody), and Joy Stegall (Bob); grandchildren, Bryan Sweezy (Susie), Jamie Pope (Alana), Robby Stegall (Jackie), Matthew Stegall (Candy), Chris Stegall, and Jonathan Oliphant (Tracy); great grandchildren, JR Sweezy (Giselle), Madison Sweezy, Olivia Stegall, Piper Stegall, Savannah Stegall, Jack Oliphant, and Macie Oliphant; and great great grandchildren, Layla Sweezy, Mila Sweezy, Javan Sweezy, and Jaxx Sweezy.
A Graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Park in Statesville. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.
