Pressley, who currently works as the assistant principal at Flat Rock Middle School in Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools, was introduced to the staff of Lake Norman Elementary on Wednesday. She will begin her new role on November 15.

“I am truly honored and excited to join and lead the Lake Norman Elementary family,” she said. “My goal is to work collaboratively with our staff, students, parents, and the community to uphold the tradition of excellence that Lake Norman Elementary is known for, while also striving to improve growth outcomes for all learners.”

As Pressley begins her work at Lake Norman Elementary School, she hopes to create a culture of belonging for all students.

“Not just because we say it, but because we show it every day,” she explained. “I believe in the power of teamwork, and I know that when we support each other, we can achieve amazing things together.”

Prior to her moving into her current administrative role, Pressley worked for nine years as a sixth-grade science and math teacher, a Multi-Tiered System of Support interventionist, and an Academically and Intellectually Gifted (AIG) coordinator.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in middle grades education from North Carolina Central University and a master’s degree in school administration from Western Carolina University.
