James Hickox, 75, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully at Duke Health Lake Norman Hospital on October 20, 2025. Born on September 24, 1950, he was the son of the late Ruth and Alan Hickox.

James was a resident of Mooresville and truly enjoyed the beauty and community of the area. He was once married to Sue Hickox and had no children. He is survived by his two stepsisters, Janet Freeman and Joan Wengler, who will remember him fondly.

Jim was a graduate of the University of Utah and went on to earn his master’s degree from Northwestern University’s School of Business. Known for his quiet nature and thoughtful spirit, Jim found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He especially loved spending time on the water boating, challenging himself with Sudoku puzzles, and enjoying anything related to sports, athletics, or music.

James will be remembered for his gentle heart, steady presence, and the peaceful life he lived.
