A woman faces felony drug charges after an Iredell County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a Statesville hotel to investigate a narcotics complaint.

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced the arrest of Brandi Alexandra Miller, 38, in a news release Wednesday.
Her arrest on October 25 was the result of the investigation of Deputy G.W. Wiedenmann, who is assigned to the ICSO Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team, who responded to a narcotics complaint at the Clarion Hotel on Sullivan Road in Statesville.
While conducting surveillance in the parking lot, Deputy Wiedenmann spotted Miller leaving the property in her vehicle and initiated a traffic stop, according to the news release.
Sergeant N. Hodges arrived on scene and deployed his canine partner Levi to assist. After Levi alerted to the odor of narcotics coming from the vehicle, deputies searched the vehicle and found methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, Campbell said.
Miller was arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, felony maintain a vehicle for controlled substances and three misdemeanor drug offenses. She was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where Magistrate Hollar issued a $10,000 secured bond.
