Ms. Carol Woods Morrison, daughter of the late Walter and Veatrice McClelland Woods, was born in Iredell County, N.C., on December 23, 1956. She departed this life at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., on November 1, 2025.

Carol was a graduate of West Iredell High School, Class of 1975. She also graduated from Mitchell Community College in 2013.

She was a devoted member of St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Gospel Choir, the Inspirational Choir and the Deaconess Board, and she was an awesome supporter of the youth department. She worked for the Kewaunee Scientific Corporation for 24 years, High Country Fireplaces, and was a passionate caregiver. Carol loved all of her family and made everyone feel special.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her son, Michael Tyrone Woods; sisters, Alberta Nixon and Annette Woods; and her brothers, Charles William Woods (Edith) and James Edward Woods (Betty).

She leaves to cherish the memory of her life her daughter, Reeka Morrison-Adams (Chavas); her sons, Jarette Scott (Brianna) and James Isabelle; seven grandchildren, Cierra Morrison (Najee), Justice Morrison (Tayo), Marley Scott, Paislee Scott, Serenity Scott, Jeremiah Scott, Chavas Adams Jr. and Kaleb Adams; great grandchildren, Braylon Morrison, London Heckstall-Morales, Emory Dalton and Nova Dalton; brother, Arthur Woods (Sandra); sisters, Barbara Alexander, Letha Morrison (Bobby) and Brenda Bennett; goddaughter, Meredith Craven; special sister, Shelia Harris (Kenneth); and a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends on November 7, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 12 noon at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. A Homegoing Celebration for Ms. Morrison will begin at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at St Joseph’s Baptist Church.
