Iredell County Emergency Medical Services is once again giving back to the community through a countywide food and clothing drive, which runs through November 15.

Members of the public are encouraged to drop off non-perishable food items and new or gently used clothing at either of the following EMS bases:
♦ Statesville: 404 Bristol Drive, Statesville
♦ Mooresville: 412 East Center Avenue, Mooresville

All food collected will be donated to Yokefellow Ministry in Statesville and FeedNC in Mooresville, while clothing donations will go to Yokefellow to support local families in need. Items most needed include jackets, socks, underwear, and other warm winter clothing.

“Service to our community is at the heart of what we do, both on and off duty,” said Iredell County EMS Director Eric Morrison. “This food and clothing drive is another way our team can help make sure local families have what they need this season. We invite the public to join us in that effort.”

Iredell County EMS employees are also participating in an internal “shift competition” to see which team can collect the most donations — a friendly contest that helps make a big community impact.

The department’s last drive brought in more than 1,500 pounds of food, and this year’s goal is to surpass that total.
