Mr. Emanuel Turner was born in Iredell County on January 6, 1948, and was the son of the late Woodrow Wilson Turner and Matha Elizabeth Turner Turner. He departed this life on Monday, November 10, 2025, at his residence following an extended illness. He was married to Diana Thayer Myers Turner, who preceded him in death. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patriece Lashay Turner, and a sister, Dora Ann Turner.

He attended Morningside High School and at one time was a member of Holiness Church of God. He was employed by Troutman Real Estate.

“E.T.,” as he was affectionately called, leaves to cherish the memory of his life his daughter, Apostle Pleshette (James) Lyle of Mocksville; a a step-daughter, Kenna Gillespie of Statesville; seven grandchildren, Ceairra Turner, Christin Smith, Colebri Turner, Joshua Smith, Drevon Thompson, Anaunda Thomas, and Treston Thomas; four brothers, Woodrow (Synetta) Turner of Delaware, David Turner of South Carolina, Elder Regionald (Lisa) Turner of Virginia, and Pastor Michael (Marilyn) Turner of Mooresville; one sister, Mary Turner of Manhattan, N.Y.; his godparents, Lonnie and Clara Troutman; his special brother and sister, Danny Troutman and Karen (Jeff) Turner; his girlfriend, Jeannette; his aunt and uncles, Johnny (Grace) Turner of Statesville, Pastor Sonny Turner of Charlotte, Kathlene Doby of Charlotte, Fred Turner of Charlotte, Kay Frances Turner of Charlotte and Pauline (Bill) Bell of Charlotte; 20 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors and dear friends.

Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Friday, November 14, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Christian Outreach of the Piedmont. Bishop Glen Usry is Pastor, Apostle Fleshette Turner Lyle and Apostle Barbara Carver will officiate. Mr. Turner will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home until taken to the church to lie in state at 12:30 p.m. Members of the family will receive friends at the church from 1 until 2 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
