Raymond Ray Deviney, 85, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Raymond was born August 21, 1940, in Cabarrus County to the late Edward Ray Deviney and Violet Enola Erickson Deviney. He was a member of Eufola Baptist Church, where he served in the sound booth and many other areas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Cook Deviney; brother, Clinton Lee Deviney; and sisters, Linda Williams and Kathryn Williams.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Raymond “Randy” Ray Deviney Jr (Shirley) and Christopher “Scott” Deviney (Cindy); grandchildren, Jake Deviney, Emily Langenstein (Maverick), Brandon Deviney (Lindsay), and Luke Deviney; great-grandchildren, Cody Langenstein, Jude Deviney, Lenya Deviney; sisters, Edwina Staley (Johnny) and Enola Nicholson (Luther); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, at Eufola Baptist Church with Matt Baker officiating. The family will visit with friends prior to the service from 1 until 2 p.m.
