Dorothy “Dottie” Hammer, 77, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Frye Regional Medical Center. She was born September 8, 1948, in Iredell County, N.C., the daughter of the late Frank Perry and Dorothy Lackey Perry.

Dottie was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed going to the beach and mountains. She loved music, singing, and enjoyed her family very much. She loved her furry friends, Marley and Maggie.

Those left to cherish and honor Dottie’s memories include her husband of 57 years, Donald “Don” Hammer of the home; her children, Kristen Hammer (Brett Watson), Suzanne Mayberry (Todd Fulbright), and John Hammer (Ashley); her grandchildren, Brittany Chapman, Ryan Hammer (Katelyn), Austin Mayberry (Mary), Jordan Roy (Katie), Payton Hammer (Cody), Braylon Fulbright, and Olivia Brewer; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; and a great-great-grandchild; her brothers, Eddie Perry and Frank Perry (Susan); a special nephew, Terry Mangum; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Adams Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life Service at 5 p.m. in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Scott Hammer will officiate.
