Charles “Richard” Lowrance, 83, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Friday, November 21, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Richard was born on June 13, 1942, to the late Charles Atwell Lowrance and Mary Helen Deal Lowrance Bunton. He served our country in the United States Army honorably during the Vietnam War and was a faithful member of Broad Street United Methodist Church. He retired from InterCraft.

For those who knew Richard, it would not be surprising to find him doing something with or for friends and family. Whether he was cooking fish for a family fish fry or teaching all of his grandchildren to fish, he was the happiest when his family and friends were surrounding him in love.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Brenda Joyce Moore Lowrance; son, Chuck Lowrance (Beth); daughter, Kathryn Buff (Brian); son, Chris Lowrance (Jennifer); grandchildren, Cheyenne Lowrance, Grace Lowrance, Hannah Balogh (Nick), Tabitha Hughes (Tyler), Sam Buff (Sarah Beth), Andrew Buff, and Madelyn Buff; great-grandchildren, Tallulah Hughes, Veda Balogh, and Lottie Balogh; and special cousin, Steve Deal.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Oakwood Cemetery followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. at Broad Street United Methodist Church with Rev. Tracy Schumpert officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday, November 23, 2025, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Troutman Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Iredell County Hospice & Palliative Care or to Iredell Christian Ministries.

Troutman Funeral Home is serving the Lowrance family.
