Special to IFN

More than 160 runners and walkers, ages 7 to 73, completed the Iredell County Crosby Scholars’ inaugural Fall Frenzy 5K on Saturday. The event raised more than $15,000 to support local students.

“We had beautiful weather and a great location at Troutman’s ESC Park,” said Executive Director Jennifer Christian. “From our amazing sponsors to the runners and walkers who participated, we’re thankful to everyone for supporting Crosby Scholars’ mission of providing career and college access to local students.”

Participants ranged from age 7 to 73.

Proceeds from the Fall Frenzy 5K will support more than 1,800 middle and high school students across Iredell County with free programming to improve student success from middle school to post high school graduation.

Nathaniel Ingram won first place, completing the 5K in 17 minutes and 23 seconds. Ryen Paul recorded the best time in the women’s category, clocking in at 21 minutes 35 seconds. Awards were also
presented for the top student (age 18 and under), adult (ages 19 – 49) and master (ages 50
