David Bennett Gaddy, 87, of Mooresville, N.C., peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House. He was born on May 30, 1938, in Charlotte, N.C., to the late Herman and Mildred Chandler Gaddy.

David dedicated his life to his craft, building a successful career that encompassed ownership of 3D Signs, Creative Screen Printers, and Multi Graphics, as well as being a partial owner of Fabric Labels and Printing Techniques.

David will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, often finding joy in fishing, and spending time at the lake and beach. A talented woodworker and painter, he delighted in creating beautiful pieces that earned him numerous awards at local shows. His enthusiasm for classic cars was evident in the pride he took in maintaining his beloved 1955 Chevy Bel Air, often showcasing it at car shows that brought together like-minded enthusiasts.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Gaddy. He leaves behind his cherished wife of 41 years, Betty Jenkins Gaddy, and his beloved family, including son Terry Gaddy and wife Mary Ann; grandson Eric Gaddy and wife Jessica; great-grandson Michael Gaddy; step-sons Steve Burnett and wife Susan, and Ronnie Burnett and wife Gina; step-granddaughter Lauren Burnett; and step-great-grandson Jake Hudson.

A graveside service will be held in his honor at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Lakeland Memorial Park in Monroe, N.C. This service will not only celebrate David’s life but also reflect on the love and joy he brought to those around him.

In lieu of flowers, the David Gaddy family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Road, Statesville, NC 28625 for the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House.
