Robert Anderson Reid, 55, of Statesville, N.C., went to be with his Lord on Sunday, November 30, 2025. He was born on January 8, 1970, the same date as Elvis, as he liked to say, to Erika Foy Reid and the late Denny Ray Reid.

Rob is survived by two sons, Alex Anderson Reid and Luke Robert Reid of Statesville. He is also survived by one brother, Brandon Shane Reid; two aunts, Ann Foy Starrette of Statesville and Lynn Reid of North Wilkesboro; and one uncle, Bennie Anderson Foy of Watagua, Tenn. He is further survived by multiple cousins and special friends from all directions.

Rob was a man of many skills. He could fix just about anything.

He grew up at his Papaw Ben’s knee, learning the skills of a mechanic. His Pop Miller taught him about firearms by making him shoot limbs out of trees, striking the same spot over and over again. He was a truck driver (a family skill), a heavy equipment operator and installed underground utilities. His brother would often say, we had a problem with someone today and had to send Rob and his silver tongue to calm them down. But the work he enjoyed the most was demolition. He would say, when the ground is flat, there is nothing to complain about.

He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church of Statesville, N.C., and a graduate of Statesville Senior High School

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, December 7, at 2:30 p.m. at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 825 Wesley Drive, Statesville, NC 28677.

Chapman Funeral Home is serving the family.
