Patricia “Patsy” Greene Smith, 74, of Statesville, N.C., passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025. Formerly of Ellerbe, N.C., she was born on April 10, 1951 in Hampton, Va., to the late Calvin Cooledge and Phyllis McQueen Greene.

Patsy was a longtime member of Jones Springs UMC in Ellerbe before relocating to Statesville. She retired after working many years with State Employees’ Credit Union. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years, Harold Ervin Smith; son Tim Smith, and brother-in-law Rick Smith.

Surviving are her son, Tony Smith (Crystal); and grandchildren, Anthony Smith (Brittney), Matt Smith (Brittany) and Layne Smith; brother, Ralph Greene (Sandra); sisters-in-law, Kelly Bost (Jim) and Jean Smith; special cousins, Darlene Cash (Tommy) and Christi Hatley (Alex); and special aunts, Cathy Thomas and Louise Bissette.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday December 3, 2025 at Carter Funeral Home in Ellerbe. Family will receive friends for visitation from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. Burial will follow in the Jones Springs Church Cemetery.
