Vera Lopresti, 69, of Mooresville, N.C., and formerly of Middlesex, N.J., peacefully passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at home. She was born in Cologne, Germany on October 26, 1956, the daughter of Eberhard & Gabriele Thyen.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicholas Lopresti; daughter, Michelle Lopresti; and father, Eberhard Thyen.

Vera graduated from Middlesex High School and went on to earn an associate degree from Middlesex County College. She was married to Nicholas Lopresti in 1977 and raised two daughters, Renee and Michelle, in Middlesex, N.J. She had a strong love for her family and animals of all shapes and sizes. She enjoyed caring for others, crafting, and more recently developed a love of cooking.

Vera worked as a branch manager for the Financial Resources Federal Credit Union for most of her life. She retired in 2019 and most recently spent her time in Mooresville with her mother Gabriele and brother Mark.

She leaves a lasting legacy to be cherished by her survivors, her daughter, Renee Allen and husband Bryan Allen, granddaughters Hannah and Kaitlyn Allen, mother, Gabriele Thyen, and siblings, Nici Bode and husband, Larry Bode, Mark Thyen, Stephanie DiPietro and husband David DiPietro, and Michael Thyen; and niece and nephew, Taylor and Tommy Thyen.

A service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville, N.C. Visitation with the family will follow.
